A National Tribute to Sally Ride Save The Date: May 20, 2013 John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts Washington, D.C. Dr. Sally Ride, America's first woman in space, founded Sally Ride Science with a mission to educate, engage, and inspire all students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Since 2001, thousands of educators across the nation have used our standards-based classroom materials, professional development training, and cutting-edge classroom resources to bring science to life and get students excited about STEM careers. As we look forward to honoring Dr. Sally Ride and her work on May 20, Sally Ride Science is preparing to share her vision with more educators and students than ever before. In the coming months, we will launch new online training to reach more teachers, new multimedia tools for classroom instruction in STEM topics, new ways to connect teachers to the best available STEM content, and new resources for students considering STEM careers. Keep checking here for updates on the tribute and on our efforts to promote STEM learning and spark students' interest in STEM careers.
